The signage project for Bel Air Village in Sherman, TX, designed by RSM Design for American Communities, truly elevates the standard for community branding. The innovative design features thirteen oversized letters, the tallest standing at an impressive 15 feet tall, spelling out “BEL AIR VILLAGE.” What sets these letters apart is their intentionally scattered layout, creating a visually captivating effect as if they were randomly strewn over a 200-foot-long area. Crafted with meticulous detail, each letter appears skewed, knocked over, or partially embedded in the ground, adding an element of dynamism and whimsy to the entrance.

In addition to the striking letter display, the project includes eleven internally illuminated totems, with the tallest towering at 35 feet. These totems serve as a prominent landmark within the community, attracting attention with their vibrant and colorful design. Utilizing tens of thousands of LED lights, they not only enhance visibility but also contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of Bel Air Village.

By pushing the boundaries of conventional signage design, this project succeeds in creating a memorable and distinctive identity for the housing community, setting it apart from others in the area. The collaboration between RSM Design, American Communities, and CREO has resulted in visually stunning and distinctive signage that leaves a lasting impression on residents and visitors alike.
