Apprentice Fabricator

Job Title:            Electrical Sign Fabricator/Metal Fabricator Apprentice

Department:       Metal Fabrication

Reports to:         Electrical Sign Fabrication Lead

Position Type:    Full Time, Hourly

 

Job Summary:

Assist the lead and journeymen metal fabricators within a metal fabrication team as directed by the team leader.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Learn the trade of architectural, environmental graphic and electrical signage under the guidance of a lead fabricator.
• Layout, measuring, cutting, routing, drilling, tapping, glue lamination, welding, grinding, sanding, filling, assembling, wiring.
• Keep work area clean and organized.  Perform other housekeeping, maintenance, wrapping and palletizing duties, as needed.
• Assist the installation team occasionally, as needed.

 

Requirements:

• Education – high school or GED equivalent
• Training – welding aluminum and steel, safe use and practice with metal shop equipment
• Experience/Skills – mathematical calculation, read construction drawings, translate scaled drawings to full size
• Tools – basic hand tools
